If you are been a music fan in North Carolina since the late 1970s, you have probably heard of the NC based iconic Nantucket band.    I remember first seeing this band live at the “My Club” bar in Rocky Mount, NC when I worked as rock n’ roll Disc Jockey on the summer  weekends during my college years.
They consistently attracted the biggest crowds the club ever had.  There is a reason for this.  It is called musical talent, great song writing, and the ability to engage the crowd.  Fast forward 35 years later from their first album, though some of the players have changed, the formula still remains the same. Recently, pretty much all the of the members both the current and past members decided to throw a party at the Lincoln Theatre just a few days before the New Years Eve  ball would drop ending  2013.    This show was the Grand Finale show of last years 35th anniversary tour.

I hope that these pictures give you a glimpse into the various highlights of this memorable event,  but nothing is the same as being there in person.
The above shot features legendary songwriter and guitarist Tommy Redd and front man Larry Uzzell.    It was one of my favorites of the night especially when it is basically straight out of the camera.
Nothing better than a great smoke/fog machine combined with great lighting. 🙂

I do not want to hear anyone tell me you need a pick to play a mean guitar when a spoon Tommy Redd style does the trick.

The special night featured two of North Carolina’s best drummers:  original Nantucket drummer Kenny Soule and current drummer Jason Patterson.
Jason pinged me the night before the show to make sure I was on hand to capture this special reunion.  Here is a little photog love to these great drummers.
These two great drummers seamlessly played together all night long.

Wait… Mr. Kenny Soule on drums Too!

Nothing like seeing great musicians passing the musical torch  from Father to son.  Eddie Blair’s son Andy Blair shared the stage with his father.

I love the pride in Eddie’s face on this one when Andy took a lead.

There are not too many people better that front man Larry Uzzell at getting the crowd into the show.

He is not the only Uzzell in the band, we can not forget Mike Uzzell on keyboards.

There was a patriotic moment with Ronnie Water doing the Star Spangled Banner on guitar.
